It was a wonderful evening to be coming to the Campus Club of the University of MN to begin our Opening Night celebration of the chamber version of Dream of the Red Chamber tat Ted Mann Concert Hall. Matthew Shilvock, General Director of San Francisco Opera, came to join our festivities. Close to 100 of our devoted donors and members responded to our invitation and came together to celebrate the realization of our goal to make presenting this wonderful opera a possibility for medium-sized opera companies and universities and music conservatories.

Amid tastey appetizers, fine wine and tea, beautifully prepared entrees we toasted each other and listened as Matthew Shilvock, composer Bright Sheng, School of Music Director Patrick Warfield, interim CLA Dean Ann Waltner talked about the importance of what projects like Dream of the Red Chamber means to our community, as well as those far away in China.

Enjoy these wonderful memories by well-known photographer Mark Stanley!
