From Vicki Gee-Treft, daughter of George Sing Gee

On 12 Nov 1937 Sing Gee boarded the ship Empress of Russia in Hong Kong, bound for Seattle. At Immigration in Seattle he took George as his American name. When the U.S. entered WWII, he enlisted in the Army and stayed until he was discharged on 28 May 1947, Polk County, MN. He married Virginia Mae Treft in 1950 and they settled in Aberdeen, SD. After working at the Capital Café they opened their own Chinese restaurant, Star Café. In 1964 they moved to Roseville, MN and worked at House of Wong Restaurant. George passed away in 1969.
